Strengthening Your Brand with Video On Demand
Want to promote your brand in a compelling way to one of the most difficult to reach audiences - 18 to 34 year old males? Video on demand is the way to go.
According to comScore Media Metrix' Online Video Ratings, more than 94 million Web users viewed streaming video online. And that's in just one month. And 18 to 34 year old males, a notoriously hard to reach demographic, view an average of 84 minutes of video per month.
With more and more Web users moving to high speed broadband connections, online video is increasing in popularity. Experts agree that over the next few years, video on demand (VOD) will begin replacing traditional broadcast. And offering video on your site is just the first step in your brand strategy. To reach a young, mobile market, you need to find ways to reach them wherever they are.
Just take a look at the new video iPod. It's a great example of mobile VOD and, once again, Apple has nailed marketing to a highly desirable audience in the way they want to be marketed to. What does this mean for your brand?
Well, the video iPod is just one of many video-enabled mobile devices. As consumers demands drive the market, more devices are sure to come. Incorporating VOD into your brand strategy is a surefire way to set your brand apart from your competitors and speak the language of your target market.

I have used this idea on our Boy Scout web site. (click on photos, then the words "FREE TO YOU") to view the video. I was not aware of the functionality of this idea when I made the link? How effective the idea is, I'm not sure. We are a low traffic site? The question that remains for me? The video that I used, is corporate produced? How would one develope a video such as the one used on my site? We are a none profit organization with no funds. Another concern is for those small web sites that are not as profitable and would like to use videos to promote products, how can videos be made for these groups and small businesses? Thank-you and Merry Christmas.
