Benefits from Social Networking

A new trend in online branding is through social networking. Netflix is an example that is using social networking to create brand loyalty. What they have done is give consumers the ability to connect with family and friends on their website and they can check their reviews before renting a movie. They feel that by connecting them to powerful influences, they can create trust and therefore trust with the brand. WellsFargo took a different angle with creating a better brand image, and has created an interactive game that invites consumers to play with one another to learn about the basics of investing and the brand itself. They targeted a younger audience who previously would not have gone to their website, and provided them with social, yet interesting entertainment. By creating a social network, brands are able to provide something unique and enticing to the market that is online by creating conversations that would otherwise not happen. Conversations establish relationships, and relationships are the key to increasing brand awareness and image.

Being innovative is taking on a whole different level. The focus is more on bringing the consumer in versus forcing ads in their face. What better what to bring them in to your brand and your company then by giving them friends and creating an environment that they want to explore.
